Virginia Beach / Norfolk / Portsmouth

We decided to celebrate Valentine's day a week later by going back to Sean's old stomping grounds in the Hampton Roads area. Hampton Roads encompasses the seven cities of Suffolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Hampton, and Norfolk.  Sean has lived in Portsmouth, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach.

We started off Friday night with a dinner at Frankie's A Place for Ribs in Virginia Beach. We gorged ourselves on "all-you-can-eat" St. Louis style ribs.  Saturday morning we went driving around some of the place of interest in Norfolk. Marlene got to see some of the apartments Sean lived in previously in the area.  We then decided to go to Portsmouth via the ferry Sean worked on in High School.

We ate lunch at "The Bier Garden" in Portsmouth.  We got to see Sean's old high school and quite a bit of the charming architecture of Olde Towne Portsmouth.

Later that evening we had dinner at Freemason Abbey.  This is an old church that has been converted into a restaurant.  They serve probably the best Lobster outside of being in Maine.  Sean also took the chance to get some other pictures: Waves, Birds, and the Sunrise.

It started raining shortly after the previous shot. Sean took Marlene to one of his old haunts, a German restaurant called "The Bier Garden"

After the rain we made it back to the Portsmouth waterfront. This is a view Norfolk shot about 500 feet from where Sean used to live
