North Carolina Renaissance Festival 2004

We had been to the festival last year in Concord and had a blast. This year was a little different.  The Charlotte Camera Club has been invited for the last several years to photograph the festival by the organizers. This year the festival let us in early and brought the participants to us in groups to photograph. This meant that we got access to the grounds before all the crowds arrived. It also meant we got to put some members up into the stands with the Royal Court for the Joust.  We had a blast. This was Marlene first use of her new camera and she did quite well.  She took more of the landscape/actor shots while I basically focused on head shots.

One of the actors near the new London Broil stage. This group does a pretty good juggling routine.

A fairy in the forest

A maiden playing her harp. This is one the artesans that travels and does all of the festivals. Charlotte is the last one for her this year.

Black t-shirt $15.00. Turkey leg $5.00. Getting caught biting into it on film - priceless.
