ABOUT US: Marlene and Sean

Sean met Marlene in Toronto, Ontario Canada in October 2001 on a business trip. Immediately enamored by her sense of humor he kept in touch with postcards from his various travels and the occasional e-mail.

In January 2002 he suggested a weekend in Washington, DC for dinner and a movie and that's how we ended up on our first date. Many e-mails, visits, and bouquets of flowers later we knew we wanted to live in the same country, the same city and maybe even the same residence. That decided Marlene looked at moving to Copenhagen just as Sean got transferred to Charlotte, NC.

Moving to the US was going to be a big decision for this Canadian girl. Sean proposed the day before her birthday and she knew she wanted to follow him wherever and whenever. After a long engagement, dictated by the terms of a fiancée visa, we are now happily married and living in Charlotte.  Our wedding reception took place in Vancouver, BC, Canada on Sept. 14^th where most of Marlene’s family is, and then we legally tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Charlotte, NC on Oct 31^st, 2003.

About Sean:
Sean was born in July 1970 in Roanoke, Virginia. He has worked and lived in many parts of the US including; Annapolis, MD, Atlanta, GA, Columbus, OH, Charlotte, NC, Memphis, TN, Norfolk, VA, Roanoke, VA, Reston, VA and Virginia Beach, VA

In 2001 he moved to Denmark with Maersk to work on the Process Improvement Team (PIT). His work experience has been primarily inter-modal related and in March of 2003 he accepted a position in Charlotte to manage a trucking terminal. Sean's hobbies include technical computer stuff, creating new low cal recipes (if that's what you want to call spaghetti sauce on lettuce leaves) and the occasional Guinness beer. 

About Marlene:
Marlene was born in October 1970 in Vancouver, BC Canada. Her parents emigrated in 1967 from Argentina to Canada. The fourth of five children in her family she is also the first Canadian. She moved from Vancouver to Toronto in 1999 when she was transferred to manage a Customer Resource Centre.  Declining a move to Costa Rica in favour of her man, she is now working a a traffic coordinator for a engineering company in Charlotte and chasing after Sean and his camers in her spare time.
Best known for her domestic-goddess sensibilities and an extensive shoe collection Marlene's never happier than when she's wearing a new outfit, cooking a new recipe and making someone laugh in the process.
