Sigma 28-80 3.5 5.6 Macro

I bought this lens for two reasons. One I had sold my initial digital rebel kits lens. Two, I wanted to be able to take close up macro shots.  I have to admit that it feels cheap. There is a lot of plastic in the body, but for $79.00 I am not complaining.  It consistently delivers crystal clear pictures.

Sigma Macro 3.5-5.6 from the  top. You can see the zoom and distance scales.  This lens also has a depth of field (DOF)  scale.  Same shot with a little better view of the DOF scale.
Shot with the above lens at 28MM 1/200 at F9 Shot with the same lens at 70MM 1/200 at F9.
The reason I got this lens was to get in close. Notice the clarity of the veins in the petals even with the compression of a thumb nailed jJPG
